Department of Social Services Major Sponsor for APAC15

The fourth Asia Pacific Autism Conference, APAC15, is pleased to acknowledge the Australian Government Department of Social Services as a Major Sponsor for the three day event in September 2015.

The Department gives people with disability and their carers more control over their own lives, helping to minimise unfair disadvantage.

Programs, payments, concessions and support services delivered by the Department aim to provide people with disability or mental illness with an adequate standard of living and improved capacity to participate economically and socially.

The 2015 conference theme of Transforming Futures is particularly relevant to the National Disability Insurance Scheme as it rolls out across the country giving people with disability more choice and control over their services than ever before.

Jointly hosted by Autism Queensland and the Australian Advisory Board on Autism Spectrum Disorders, APAC15 will be held in Brisbane next week from 9 to 11 September 2015.

The program features clinicians, educators, researchers, people with ASD, parents and others involved in working with people on the spectrum for three days of expert learning.

Australian research will be a major focus and will feature key updates on research coming out of The Cooperative Research Centre for Living with Autism Spectrum Disorders established in Brisbane in 2013.
